December news update and prayer requests

Posted by Anne Witton on Friday, December 19, 2014 Under: Support
The great news is that I've now got all the financial support that I need to start full-time on campus in the new year! I'm so thankful to God for his provision and to you for your faithful prayers, generous giving and lovely encouragements to press on when things have been tough.

We're having some staff time this Friday to reflect on this term and look ahead to next year so please pray that God will direct our thoughts and discussion as we make future plans. It's difficult to say what my timetable will look like at the moment, but here's some idea of the ministry activities I'm involved in.

From 6th - 9th January I'll be in Staffordshire for the New Staff Training Retreat. I'm looking forward to spending some time with the other new starters from around the country and having quality time with God to prepare for full-on ministry.

In other news, Duncan has been doing an audio Bible project with a range of people with different accents reading books of the New Testament. It isn't complete yet, but you can download the recording here (including my Mancunian rendition of 1 and 2 Peter!)

After a lot of hard work, Abby and I are starting to get settled in the new house and are already enjoying getting to know the neighbours. We're very much looking forward to using our home for ministry in the new year and welcoming friends, family and random passers-by to enjoy community and fellowship in 2015.

Please would you pray for -

  • Plans for next term. That we will put aside our own agenda and seek God's will. Also that we will look to him for strength and not trust in our own wisdom.
  • The New Staff Retreat. That it will be a great time of fellowship with the Lord and one another.
  • All the students that we have connected with this term. That they will draw closer to God over Christmas time and that God will sustain them.
  • Our new neighbour, Paul, who we are getting to know quite well. Please pray that we'll be able to share our lives and faith with him.
Thank you so much for all your support. I'm really excited about being able to start full-time on campus in the new year.

Praying that you will have a fun, God-filled Christmas and a wonderful New Year.
