Old Testament reading challenge, with a little help from Poirot!

One of my current Agapé training assignments is to read the Old Testament and to do a short review of each book. Although I have read through the entire Bible numerous times before, I've often found some bits of the Old Testament difficult because of the lists of hard-to-pronounce names (you know the stuff - "Kedorlaomer king of Elam, Tidal king of Goyim, Amraphel king of Shinar and Arioch king of Ellasar...")

So I've taken a different approach this time and am letting my favourite actor, David Suchet, read the Bible to me as I follow along in the text. I'm finding that I'm able to concentrate on the meaning a lot more and I'm really enjoying having the Bible narrative brought to life by such a distinguished English actor. (I also feel a particular connection to him as we both became Christians through reading Romans 8 and he once personally tweeted me to confirm that fact!)

For those of you who, like me, have struggled with difficult bits of the Bible, or would simply like a different way to engage with God's living word, I would really recommend getting hold of these recordings. You could listen at home whilst following along in the text, or listen to the Bible when driving, running or whatever. My only regret is that you can't get a version in Poirot's accent, but I guess you can't have everything!
